At what point does everyone and everything just stop pretending?

We are watching genocide, climate collapse, escalating hate, and mass grief, then being told to continue as if normal life is fully intact.

Systems do not uphold themselves. People uphold them.

Most people know this. Most people are also scared. Scared of being unpaid, displaced, isolated, punished. I understand that fear.

But I also keep asking: what is the threshold?

What has to happen before “I disagree” turns into action? How much loss has to touch your own life before urgency becomes non-negotiable?

It is terrifying to act alone. It is terrifying to risk comfort. But many people do not get to choose whether they are comfortable. They are already paying the cost.

If we wait for perfect safety before we move, we may not have a voice left when we finally decide to use it.
